Connect with God through your heart

Dear ones, the more you connect with your own hearts, the more you connect with God, and the more connected you will feel with all of life. For you cannot possibly relate to others or the world around you if you are not relating honestly with yourself. Do you really know what you want? Or are you operating in response to all the "shoulds" you have been programmed with over the course of a lifetime.

Take time sometime this week and write down on a piece of paper, all the "shoulds" you can think of that you have been programmed with over the course of your life – both the ones that were spoken to you and the ones that were modeled for you. And then look at your life, and see the correlation. "I should put everyone else's needs first." "I should always be nice even if it means avoiding speaking my truth." "I should be responsible even if that means ignoring my own heart." "I should get my work done before I play." "I should eat my dinner before my dessert." "I should eat better." "I should be thinner." "I should be married by now." "I should have more in my retirement account by this age." Keep going. Dig deep. Allow the "shoulds" that define you to bubble to the surface. And when you are all finished, feel the weight of those "shoulds." Feel the bu rden of being told you must be something other than what you actually are in each moment. And when you are ready, rip, shred, burn, or bury that piece of paper, and make a decision that you will be who are you from now on in any given moment.

Who said you should be married, rich, thin, heavier, more beautiful, less flashy, quieter, more outspoken, more careful with your diet, more free with your diet, etc.? God says something entirely different. God says: Be who you are. You are love. Love yourself in each moment. You are already beautiful. You are already in relationship with all of creation. You are perfect as you are. Your body will tell you what to eat in any given moment. You will feel like doing the things that are guiding you on your path. You will want to do what is right for everyone's soul if you are honest with yourself.

Examine your life this week and really ask yourself how many of your activities are done out of shoulds vs. how many are done out of true desires. Do you go to work because you should pay the bills, or because you truly want to pay the bills. What is the difference you ask? I have to go to work! No you don't dear ones. You could quit and let others take care of you if that were in your heart. You could simplify and get a different job. You could create a new career. You see, there is powerful energy in owning your choices, getting real about what you are doing authentically because there is a reason in your heart to do it, vs. what you are doing out of a "should" or what you are doing simply because you have not examined why you are doing it. Start to own your choices dear ones. Start to do things because you want to do them. And if you do not want to be doing something, examine your alternatives and get busy starting to make the changes. Your life is short dear fri ends. Make it yours.

Dealing with confusion

When you feel confusion in your lives dear ones, sit still. Find quiet time and ask yourself, "What do I want in this moment?" "What does my heart desire right now?" Not one year from now. Not three days from now, and not even later today, but right in this moment. In this fashion you will get in touch with your guidance. If we asked you this question some of you would say, "I want to win the lottery!" And we would say, "That is fine, but what do you want right now?" You would say, "I want to never worry about money again," and we would reply, "Wonderful! You can stop worrying right now. You can trust God right now. In this instant you can fulfill your own desire and therefore begin to create an external manifestation to match." Right now, dear ones, your immediate prayers can be answered... by you!

Suppose you want a relationship, and again we ask you, "What do you want right now?" You answer, I want someone by my side. And we reply, "Of course you do, you are human! But given that there is no one there in this moment, what do you want right now?" And you say, "I am lonely! I want someone now!" And we say, "But now there is no one there, so what do you want right now?" You dig deeper and reply, "I want to feel loved." And we say, "Ah there, now there is something you can have right now! Sit quietly, breathe, ask to feel God's love. Surrender. Allow. Love yourself enough to ask to feel this great love." And you sit, and breathe, and feel calmer, and supported, and surrounded with love. All of the sudden you feel better. The desire for a relationship is still there but you do not feel you have to wait for your external manifestation to be happy anymore You feel more loved, more connected, and more fulfill ed right now. And in this space, as a happier person, you become more attractive to others seeking relationship.

Truly dear ones if you ask yourself, "What do I want right now? Given what is in front of me this very second, what do I want now? How can I give this to myself? Who can I call to help me if I need help? How can I fulfill my own desires right this second?" If you dig deep and ask yourselves these questions you will find that the answers to all your prayers can begin in this very moment, and by starting in the small, simple ways that you know how to achieve, you will inevitably create the vibration that attracts your larger manifestations.

Open to life

Life wants to flow through you dear ones. Life offers you a tantalizing buffet of adventures! Life wants to say "Here I am! Try me!" Taste! Look! Listen! Life is nothing more than a myriad of expressions of God's love waiting to be experience. Life is not about survival. Life is about experiencing love in an infinite number of ways. Life is about knowing the various faces and aspects of God. Life is an adventure of discovering more about who you are each and every day. And dear ones, this discovery is not solely a mental exercise - it is an exercise of opening up to life, tasting life, experiencing life, and seeing what parts of life resonate with you and which do not.

Start a conversation with a stranger and see what you learn about life or yourself. Try a new activity that you are drawn to and experience new joys in your life. See if you can learn why another person thinks differently than you. Open your mind up about new ways you might create income in your life by doing what you love, or simply ways to do more of what you love. Remember what you loved in childhood and see if you can't find ways to explore that energy in your adult life now.

The secret to remaining young at heart, dear ones, is being open to life. If you are open to trying new things, exploring new perspectives, and indeed discovering more and more about you who are every day then the energy of God's love is allowed to flow through your life. You'll want to remain on earth and enjoy its pleasures! Your body will want to adjust to allow you these joys. You'll feel inspired and revitalized. How do you know what gives you joy unless you choose to explore the possibilities life offers?

It costs nothing to read a new book. It is so simple to try a new food. It is freeing in so many ways to have a conversation with someone you disagree with in order to learn how they think. It is inspiring to brainstorm about how your talents might be turned into a business. Who says you can't do these things dear ones? God says you can. God invites you to be open to life. God invites you to think "outside the boxes" that were defined for you during your upbringing. Why can't you love someone who has hurt you? That power exists inside of you, and it certainly feels better than upset! Why can't you make money doing something you love? Why can't you try something that you think "isn't you?" Why not... Ask yourself in the upcoming days. Why can't I branch out a bit in my life and take a chance and try to be more open to life? Try opening up to life dear ones, for in so doing, you will learn so much more about who you are, what gives you joy, and what you'd rather avoid. In doing so, you will learn you are safe, loved, and not alone in this world. Opening to life is really opening to love.

Heaven exists now

Heaven exists, right here, right now upon your earth dear ones. It is not a faraway place. It is not a state of nirvana and meditation although some of you will find it that way. It is not a space reserved only for those who have 'earned' God's love or are 'worthy' of it, for indeed none of you have to earn God's love. It is given freely by its very nature. You are made of the very same. Worthiness is not an issue at all in the mind of God. Are the streams worthy of running into the rivers that run into the oceans, or isn't that part of their very design?

Living 'in' heaven is a choice. It is a choice to celebrate the miracles of life around you. You can see! You can hear! You can touch one another and feel with your very delicate and beautiful skin. You can witness the flight of the birds, hear the rustle in the trees, smell the freshly cut grass, and taste of the earth's bounty. Everywhere you look, everything you feel, everything you hear or see, or taste is a part of God's love for you. Heaven is found by looking at the many ways in which you are loved, at the myriad of ways in which your life does work. Even if you are not happy at all with your present conditions, you can find things to celebrate! You can dream your dreams.

We honor your human desires and yet, why oh why we wonder would you put off your bliss becuase your current life does not reflect some mythical criteria of success? If you had nothing, and believed in God's love for you, you would exist in heaven and find a great abundance of love surrounding you. The birds do not have a bank account. The field mice do not worry about their rent! And yet they are fed, housed, sheltered, and cared for. And when their lives end dear ones, they do not bemoan the fact that they did not achieve all they thought they should for instead they have lived one day, one moment at a time, grateful for the abundance around them.

We know that as human beings you want what you want, and there is nothing wrong with this. But do not put off your joy! Do not put off enjoying the miraculous nature of life around you for any reason whatsoever. Heaven can be yours right now if you choose to see the love of God surrounding you in this very moment. As you do so, you feel abundant inside, and you will attract all you need and want externally as a result. Heaven on earth is certainly not a feeling of lack, but rather an experience of contentment "now" even with a desire for growth and expansion.

Take a moment. Look around. See God's love everywhere - in the sights, sounds, smells, tastes, textures around you; in the eyes of a loved one, or better yet, in your very own eyes as you look in the mirror. God is everywhere. Love is everywhere. Don't deprive yourself of what is already yours, already here, already available in every given moment.
